The UnDollar Digest is a service offered
by Will Reishman, a Registered
Investment Advisor with CobyLamson
Capital Management of Medford, Oregon.
The Digest’s primary purpose is to
educate and inform. U.S dollar-based
investors must pursue an investment
strategy that requires a radical
departure from past practice and the
norms of traditional investment
discipline. To commit to such a course,
however, requires conviction that can
only come from well-informed
understanding.
The present investment environment is
unlike any other in the history of the
United States. The challenge before us
is not merely to negotiate the perils of
today’s manic and volatile markets, but
to do so while preserving the purchasing
power of capital in light of the ongoing
devaluation of the U.S. dollar.
It is our confirmed view that this is
far and away the most significant issue
facing U.S.-based investors: the
inevitable long-term decline of the U.S.
dollar. All other issues are secondary,
for unless investors are properly
positioned for what may become a
full-fledged currency crisis, they
remain in an untenable risk posture.
Most of the material posted on The
Digest originates with others whose
judgment we value, or is information
relevant to the issues we are tracking
that might escape the reader's
attention. In some cases we edit
material to give the reader the essence
of a given argument without, for
example, all the statistical detail.
